I have a linux box I want to make silent. I yanked the noisy CPU fan out of it and ran seti@home for a couple hours on a hot day. It's still kicking so CPU cooling isn't 'neccesary' :) I know I can fortify the power supply and maybe even make a heat pipe for it. Yank that fan out.
