Overflown
October 19th, 2005, by Rich.
Portsmouth is blessed with interesting skies, in an aircraft sense, and we keep being overflown by three aircraft today (and yesterday too, but it was cloudy).
Two fly in close formation, and one slightly higher and more loose. They keep doing the same thing, flying over the house going north, making a long turn near portsdown hill, and the heading back south, over us again. One of the planes is painted bright blue and white. I wonder what they are. They look somewhat similar to this. Perhaps they’re doing navigation training.

Aha, it appears that HRH QE II is visiting Portsmouth today, commemorating the 200th anniversary of the bettle of Trafalgar, and the death of the worlds most famous half-blind monodextrous rum-soaked Vice Admiral of the fleet, Lord Nelson.
Perhaps the flights are related to that.

They’re back today, and this time they seem to be following a 4th aircraft. Playing chase perhaps.
