I just got another call from Satellite Direct UK telling me that my Sky warranty needs renewing. Oddly enough, nothing has changed since their last call. We are still registered with the TPS so it’s unlawful for them to phone us and we still don’t have a Sky box, so it’s definitely not out of it’s warranty period, which they again suggested. Satellite Direct UK you are not morons: stop ignoring the TPS.
Update: Looks like we’re not the only recipients of their unwanted sales calls: Longrider (also called twice) points out a host of others.
Update: Satellite Direct UK’s business practices have subsequently been successfully challenged in the High Court by BSkyB.
Update 2008/03/10: Satellite Direct UK are investigated by BBC Watchdog (it’s available on iPlayer for 1 week after broadcast).

As an employee of this great company (which is 49% owned by a 20 y/o) I would reccommend that anybody who ever recieves a phone call from satellite direct to hang up immediatley. As sky and virgin are despratley competing for customers any half witted human would realise that the threat of loss of custom for BskyB is enough for sky to react by sending an engineer round anyway (free) should there be any problems, so that customers dont transfer to Virgin Media.
As a telesales agent working for bulls*** direct , the company in my opinion has a total disregard for Telephone Preference Service nor do they acknowledge the fact that people dont want to be called.
Also the company treat their employees like little children, so to me it comes as no suprise that staff treat their customer’s with contempt, (with a smile of course :-)

I have just discovered a direct debit has been started from my bank account from the number 0870 224 5777. I searched through the net to find who this number belonged to and found myself here. I was never contacted by this ‘company’ and am living abroad have no need for their service. How can this happen. I am furious to say the least. I have tried to e-mail them but am still waiting for a reply. This must not be allowed to continue!

This bunch seem to be calling themselves Satlink Services now. It’s still the same offices, staff, ineffectiveness etc.
Last year, following complaints to their management about telephone calls in spite of TPS, the calls stopped. Finally, a result I thought. Too good to be true - they mailed me instead! I complained and received a letter stating my details had been removed.
Yesterday I got another telemarketing call. Oh boy did I complain. The admin office at 01243 867893 referred me to a call centre manager called Liz who apologised and promised to actually delete my details this time. I informed them that I consider their persistent contacting to be harassment and is therefore a criminal offence.
Today I got another call…
The saga continues!

Hi guys, I have previously and ashamedly worked for this totally bogus company and ended up leaving
due to the conning they expected us to do, And to boot they fiddled our tax and NI aswell and the afformentioned Mr ‘Fillandering conman’ Reynolds expected us to lie and cheat to the customer in any which way, just to be sure to get the sale! Well I hasen to add that I reported him to the tax office and to BSkyB. And a warning to all potential customers, your credit card details are taken and then stored in paper files within the HQ which has absolutely no security and I know that is breaching confidentiality and security laws - Trading Standards here we come!

I contacted Satellite Direct last week as they had taken money out of my bank account without my knowledge or say so.
I am pleased to say that after writing to them asking for my money back they immediately refunded my account.
I just hope this is the last I hear from them

I’ve been duped by Satellite Direct, thought the call was direct from Sky, couldn’t remember when my agreement directly with Sky ran out and ended up agreeing to a 3 year contract for £80. They took the money from my account, sent me an agreement and I realised that my Sky agreement didn’t run out until August this year, so I e-mailed them, called them and wrote to them and am still waiting for a refund 3 months later! I did get a letter 2 weeks ago saying that they would reply to my letter, but I’ve heard nothing. I called them today - again - and they have no record of my agreement number, so I reckon they’ve cancelled it and just don’t want to give the money back! I will carry on fighting, didn’t know anything about all the other peoples problems until tonight - what a bunch of con merchants!

I have received an e-mail stating I will get my refund within 28 DAYS!! Not good enough. I have also incurred bank charges due to the account they sabotaged being used only for specific payments. They told me I had a previous agreement with Nationwide and even gave me my reference number which I know to be fake as I have never had any ‘agreement’. Since asking for proof of this existing policy all contact from them has ceased. Still waiting for my money and apology.

If you all opened your eyes you’d realise that sky do not cover there own
equipment its illegal (as they are saying their on equipment is not up to
standard if it needs a warranty) they recommed a company called domestic
and general who’s cover is called the sky repair plan. The reason being
they take a percentage of what D & G earn. D & G dont even have their own
engineers they subcontract from local areas meaning they cannont control the
level of service you recieve. Whereas Satelite Direct have their own dedicated
engineers on hand. Have over half a million happy customers and there are at
least ten other sky warranty companies around not other no real service at all
