Phone Spam from Satellite Direct UK

I just got another call from Satellite Direct UK telling me that my Sky warranty needs renewing. Oddly enough, nothing has changed since their last call. We are still registered with the TPS so it’s unlawful for them to phone us and we still don’t have a Sky box, so it’s definitely not out of it’s warranty period, which they again suggested. Satellite Direct UK you are not morons: stop ignoring the TPS.
Update: Looks like we’re not the only recipients of their unwanted sales calls: Longrider (also called twice) points out a host of others.
Update: Satellite Direct UK’s business practices have subsequently been successfully challenged in the High Court by BSkyB.
Update 2008/03/10: Satellite Direct UK are investigated by BBC Watchdog (it’s available on iPlayer for 1 week after broadcast).
Update 2008/07/05: The director of Satellite Direct UK appears to have been charged with fraud and money laundering.

Just checked with companies house Satellite Assured Ltd (Company No. 05031093) is a registered company with a head office in Monmouth not West Sussex Which is a bit strange?

Good news. Satellite Direct Satellite Assured and all other companies pretending to be SKY will soon be out of business because SKY intend to offer a free repair service in order to match VIRGIN ,those who keep being pestered should report to trading standards those already conned should stop payment or report to Credit Card Co.

I’ve been bombarded by this company, not by phone but by mail. I receive 1 letter a week. Getting fed-up of it.

I had a call from this shower, claiming to be sky. They had enough details to convince me and then go through a security procedure.
Yeah right, a ruse to get further information!!
I thinking they were from sky gave them my bank account details and nothing happened. No direct debit information given out, nothing received. Two months later they set up a direct debit and take £70 from my account. Fortunately I rang sky to find out that this is a fraud. Even the amount was not what I had agreed!!
I rang them and they are claiming it was not them but some company called Nationwide…..Nationwide scam I think!!!
Believe me this is fraud I am going to trading standards, and anyone else I can think of….in fact may even see if I can involve the police!
Beware, not only are these people dishonest they are a pain in the a***!

So a company with 600 000 customers is breaking FSA rules and the director did not realise. Look up the word warranty and check it against the meaning of coverplan. With this many customers you do not need to break the rules and if you did you are a fool!

I am just warning all bloggers who have been conned by these companies my father is 82 and lives alone, he has been pressurised into buying three!!!!of these Warranties (2 from Satellite Direct and one from Satellite Asured )I reported them to the authorities.Even after being taken to court in Feb they are still trading the same unlawful way and have total disregard for the Trading Standards and TPS.
