Phone Spam from Satellite Direct UK

I just got another call from Satellite Direct UK telling me that my Sky warranty needs renewing. Oddly enough, nothing has changed since their last call. We are still registered with the TPS so it’s unlawful for them to phone us and we still don’t have a Sky box, so it’s definitely not out of it’s warranty period, which they again suggested. Satellite Direct UK you are not morons: stop ignoring the TPS.

Update: Looks like we’re not the only recipients of their unwanted sales calls: Longrider (also called twice) points out a host of others.

Update: Satellite Direct UK’s business practices have subsequently been successfully challenged in the High Court by BSkyB.

Update 2008/03/10: Satellite Direct UK are investigated by BBC Watchdog (it’s available on iPlayer for 1 week after broadcast).

Update 2008/07/05: The director of Satellite Direct UK appears to have been charged with fraud and money laundering.

    I have just received yet another reminder from S.D.UK regarding my Sky installation saying my initial manufacturers warranty has expired,I have on numerous occasions told them that the system is less than 12 months old yet they still telephone or mail me. I am registered with both MPS and TPS but this seems to have no effect what so ever.

    I work for a company called domestic and genral for t the sky repair plan i have in the last 14 day phoned 198 people who sat direct or whatever they are called and people have been told that they are calling from sky this is a lie and that they are the only company who sky approve to do the warrentys also a lie if you get a called regarding the warrenty on your sky sky+ or sky hd ask what the name of the company is if its not domestic and genral hang up sat direct are an illegal 3rd party company who trick customer into taking warrentys with them but when you phone up to get some work done strangley they have no record of you on there system or evan calling you i would avoid this company they are scam artists

    i already have a repair paln with sky since 2004 . Some one rang couple of months ago and without even telling that they are a separate company suggested to me that if pay yearly or quarterly instead of monthly it will be cheap. I assumed that this call is from the sky people as the person who called this did not make it clear I said okay for the 3 onths period. Just today I noticed that that I have been paying for sky repair plan as well as to satelite assured and they have taken the money twice in last 3 months .
    What a fraud. I would certalinly advise people to be beaware of satellite assured.

    Sky did not win anything against Satellite Assured. Retract your comment blog 175 as it is misleading and wrong in what it says.
