THEY buy their info from any company willing to sell customer info on for a profit...eg wherever you purchase anything major ( like a tv or washing machine or fridge..)utilities, even probably Sky. They take your details for "guarantee" purposes, and then, UNLESS YOU SPECIFICALLY ASK THEM NOT TO, they will then have the option to pass (sell) your details on. Hope this helps clear up a little of the mystery.
