Under ReConstruction

Following a disk failure last night in the DSG, I’ve lost approximately 48 hours of blog entries; so the entry titled “Wedding”, where I thanked lots of people for all their lovelyness during our wedding last week has gone the way of the Dodo.

For the record, the error manifested itself in MySQL, which couldn’t write to it’s log, so reported the following:

Database error: [Error writing file '/var/log/mysql/mysql.log' (Errcode: 30)]

I’ve taken the oportunity of the forced outage to upgrade the software that runs this site from WordPress 1.2.2 to WordPress 1.5 so there will be a short period of bizarreness whilst I get the new themes mechanism aligned with my preferred look and feel.

Please hold tight – near normality will be resumed as soon as possible.

Update – late PM – having tweaked a lot of the UI back into shape using the themes the site is almost usable again, apart from most of the navigation and several of the core page capabilities…

Update – several days later – The broken disks have now been replaced and all applications have been switched back to their primary hosts. Normality is resumed.
