Like a chosen few before me, I have become the posessor of a WordPress.com golden ticket; a rather rare invitation to join wordpress.com and start a free ‘blog, on what is one of the most sought-after domains on the net. It appears that I am at liberty to pass this ticket on to one lucky individual.

Learning from previous golden ticket holders, I shall not squander this opportunity. Rather than passing the invitation to the first random request (or flogging it on ebay), I hope to promote a little culture so I’d like any potential recipient to show that they are worthy of the literary requirements that the prize can demand of them.

Below, I begin a haiku, each entrant must extend it by writing one, two or three verses.

The subject of the haiku is itself, and it’s authors and wordpress. Authors should strive to balance these subjects, and to continue the existing threads.
