Individual Project (Engineering) Y3, 40cr

Overview

This module requires the student to produce a substantial individual piece of work, using the skills and techniques appropriate to their pathway, acquired throughout the degree course.

Learning Outcomes

  1. Employ best practice methods and approaches to manage a large-scale project.
  2. Identify and summarise the problem to be solved and put it in context.
  3. Identify legal, ethical, social and professional issues pertinent to their project and take necessary actions to address these issues.
  4. Conduct a formal literature search, identifying, analysing, comparing and contrasting sources and writing an evaluative review.
  5. Design, implement and test a substantial relevant artefact (or several smaller artefacts).
  6. Critically evaluate their work against its objectives and reflect on and generalise the learning achieved in a written report.
